Florida wouldn't be Florida without Orlando and whilst at our villa many of our guests choose to make a trip to Orlando to visit the Disney, Universal and Sea World theme parks. It can be a very long and exhilarating day for the family but a tiring one, therefore we often suggest a stopover for one or two nights at one of the many budget hotels. This means you are more refreshed to enjoy the parks and the journey will be less of a chore. Of course when you return to the villa its back to relaxing times around the pool and at the beach.

Directly to the north the beautiful bays and city of Tampa is a 90-minute drive, and well within daily reach is the excellent Busch Gardens, Tampa. Theme park thrills alongside a Zoological park. Sarasota is a little under an hour with its coastal waterways, scenic views and designer shopping and Bradenton with its museums and history.

Myakka Nature ReserveThe Myakka Nature Reserve is one of Florida's oldest and largest nature attractions and is less than an hour's drive away. Myakka is popular for hiking, fishing, camping and, above all, wildlife observation. There is also Lemon Bay nature park just a few minutes from the villa on Placida Road. Also well worth a visit is Old Englewood village itself.

Within an hours drive south is Punta Gorda (Fisherman's Village - a pier with local speciality shops) and Fort Myers (Edison & Ford Houses) plus the unmissable Sanibel and Captiva Islands further out to the coast. A trip to the 'Everglades' will take around 2 hours and offers Indian reservations, airboat rides and don't miss Alligator viewing close up at the Park rest area for free.

A visit to vibrant Miami is 3 hours away. Perhaps an airboat ride or Alligator viewing on the way? Or why not just sit and relax and watch nature come past your door, or in the trees or the waterways of Rotonda. Our adjoining lots are natural and unspoilt and provide the perfect backdrop for outside dining.
